Ever thought about adding video that your organization did not create to your website? Magnify.net is an innovative video solution that helps websites find and aggregate video related to certain subjects and keywords. The video service might not be right for every business. However, it might be an interesting way for some businesses to offer more video content in addition to video productions produced internally or by a video production company.
Magnify.net scours video sharing sites like YouTube, Metacafe, DailyMotion and other video sharing sites to find relevant video content. The service also allows users to create a video channel and even upload videos directly from their computer. If you are not comfortable embedding video content from other sources, the service still can be used in an interesting way to aggregate and display some of your own YouTube content. Below, you can find an example of how we’ve used Magnify to spotlight some of our videos that are already appearing on YouTube. We can now take the same code provided by Magnify and place it anywhere on the web.
Will Magnify.net hep with video search engine optimization? It should as it is one more way to get video in more places. We just created our rewatchable.magnify.net channel and we will post again about Magnify if we see an impact on our video search engine optimization efforts.
Magnify offers a free service as well as Pro and Enterprise service levels. They claim to host more than 70,000 video channels and they say they have Magnified more than 1.3 million videos this week alone.
Magnify.net is based in NYC and is powered by Cambridge, MA web application company Akamai.
Rewatchable is a Boston based video production company.
