Back in 2006, YouTube limited videos to a length of 10 minutes to prevent Hollywood TV shows and movies from being uploaded to their service. This past summer, the video hosting service increased the limit to 15 minutes as they got better at matching copyrighted videos with their Content ID service.
Now, YouTube seems to have gone one step further as they have taken away the video duration limitation all together for some accounts. Of course with YouTube, you can never be sure which accounts are affected and for how long the change will remain in place.
