DigitalPost Interactive has completed their acquisition of Boston based video production company Rovion. Founded in 2001, Rovion is best know for their InPerson virtual spokesperson. The InPerson video spokesperson allows companies to have a video spokesperson rove around any website a visitor happens to be viewing. According to an earlier press release “Rovion offers a range of online advertising products and services to its active client base of more than 1,000 companies in the automotive, e-commerce, entertainment, food-related, healthcare, retail, services and sports industries.”
According to DigitalPost CEO Michael Sawtell the two companies will act as one.
“We are pleased that the acquisition has been completed and are excited about this new business opportunity. Beginning today, we are a combined company which will have an immediate positive impact on our revenues. We are also beginning the process of integrating our operations which is expected to improve efficiencies in the fourth-quarter this year.” Digital Post CEO Michael Sawtell
Hopefully, that means the Boston operation will stay put and video production capabilities will stay in Boston. Rovion will be part of DigitalPost’s digital advertising group that will feature the “Rovion ad platform, the InPerson video format and related video production, hosting and management services.”
For now, it seems as though Rovion services will remain on Summer Street in Boston, MA and DigitalPost operations will remain in Irvine, CA.
